                Orthopedic Associates is proud to have served out community for over 30 years. Today, the practice is compromised of nine physicians, Dr. Jeffery Cantrell, Dr. Danny Corbitt, Dr. Kent Dickson, Dr. J. David Evanich, Dr. Brady Giesler, Dr. James Heerwagen, Dr. Manuj Singhal, Dr. Michael Willenborg, and Dr. Richard Williamson. With over 150 cumulative years of experience among them, they offer a breadth of specialization to care for sports-related injuries, fractures, arthritis, spinal disorders, and a full-range of other musculoskeletal injuries and conditions in patients ranging in age from infants to seniors.

                In addition to the nine years of post-collegiate education and training required to become an orthopedic surgeon, most of the physicians at Orthopedic Associates have also pursued advanced fellowship training in a number of orthopedic subspecialties. Theses specialties include sports medicine, arthritis surgery, adult hip and knee reconstruction, joint replacement, hand and upper extremity surgery, shoulder and elbow surgery, foot and ankle surgery, and spine surgery. Each of the physicians is board-certified or board-eligible for certification by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS), meaning they have met the rigorous education, evaluation, and examination requirements of that Board.

Sports Medicine

                From weekend warriors to elite athletes, Orthopedic Associates’ physicians have the expertise to diagnose and treat injuries related to sports and exercise. Like treatment for all orthopedic injuries, patients receive a recovery and rehabilitation plan to get them “back in the game” as quickly and safely as possible.

State-of-the-Art Facilities

                In the Flower Mound office, Orthopedic Associates has a state-of-the-art open MRI unit. MRI, short for Magnetic Resonance Imaging, is a method used by physicians to look inside the human body to obtain anatomical and functional diagnostic information. This integrated approach improves patient convenience and speeds physician diagnosis. Orthopedic Associates recently received a three-year term of accreditation in MRI as a result of a recent survey by the American College of Radiology (ACR). Orthopedic Associates also recently implemented a digital x-ray system, which provides increased convenience to the patient and physician and ultimately improves the patient experience. The physicians are committed to staying current on proven new technologies and minimally invasive techniques in orthopedic treatment through continuing education and subspecialty certifications.

Commitment to the Community

                While patients throughout the nation struggle to find access to emergency care, our community is fortunate to have an Orthopedic Associates physician on call 24/7. Many emergencies can be treated in the emergency room and seen by an orthopedist later, but for those injuries requiring immediate evaluation and treatment, the physicians are readily available on a daily basis. The physicians and their staff have long-standing roots in the community, and several have attended area high schools. Today, the physicians are also proud to be the team physicians for Argyle, Flower Mound, Lake Dallas, Lewisville, and Marcus High Schools, as well as the University of North Texas. Orthopedic Associates is also supportive of area charities such as high school programs, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Friends 4 Heart, PediPlace, Naomi’s Village for orphans, and more.
